The stockings are hung, the packages wrapped,

including the Adamas shawl for Mom,
and the cookies are baked.

Scarf

Here's a couple more shots of the scarf, this is more like the true color of it.
Other than that I've been cranking out six pointed stars, not very exciting. I bought a kit to make chocolate covered pretzels so I thought I'd start on that until I realized the kit doesn't include the pretzels - duh! Another trip to the grocery store.

Christmas Preparations Continue

This is the lovely gingerbread house Zoë and I decorated yesterday (thank goodness for pre- packaged kits).
This is the scarf that I whipped up last night for a last minute gift (more pics to come).

This is the first of many stars that will decorate some Christmas packages.

Today I ran out and bought some oranges to make the recipe I talked about in the previous post and now I'm going to have to go back because Parikha has gone and added another delicious recipe which I have to try now!

Christmas Gifts

I thought it would be cute to knit up a couple of mug cozies for gifts and fill them with biscotti. I found this awesome recipe for biscotti at allrecipes added some chopped dried cranberries and drizzled it with white chocolate-yum!

These are going to fill this mug that is completed with a cozy.

One down two more to go.

And thanks to this post I'm now thinking about making some orangettes.

Little Christmas Delights

There is just something about the holidays that make me want to decorate, decorate, and decorate.Add Image

I found this little guy at a craft show last week and found this tree which was the perfect height!

Zoë had a lot of fun putting up the gel window tree.

And, of course, the main event:

Last week we made a paper chain decorated with lots of glitter and this week a gingerbread house is on the to do list. As for knitting I, who decided not to knit Christmas gifts, have all of a sudden decided to whip up several in the next week and a half. Brilliant.

Finished Lace Gloves

There was more blocking today!

This is a scarf from 101 Designer One Skein Wonders and I love it! I pinned it this morning and it is still pretty wet.

This is a free pattern from Knit Picks,
Victorian Lace Fingerless Gloves and
I really like the lace detail.

I'm thinking about casting on for a shawl next, but we'll see.

Block Party

I'm alone in the house today so its a perfect time to catch up on the blocking that needs done. I started with the Adamas Shawl, which I finished ages ago.

Its a gloomy day so this picture didn't come out to well. Hopefully this will be able to lay here undisturbed until tomorrow.

Yesterday I finished the Victorian Fingerless gloves so I got them blocked.

I finished the Tiger Eye (PDF) scarf about six months ago.

The new knitty is up check it out!

Welcome

Here's the new blog, what do you think?

I have been working away on Christmas present this week. Here is one of them, a scarf:I also had to make an emergency order from the Loopy Ewe because I just had to have the Romney Ridge calender for next year! I received the order yesterday which included some Cherry Tree Hill yarn as well as the 2009 calender.

I totally recommend this calender and if you don't have a copy yet go get one!
